This spot is located: Laurel Falls is the largest waterfall in Northeast Tennessee. It is in the Cherokee National Forest just outside of Hampton, TN
How to get to this spot: Access is by hiking only. The shorter route is 1.3 miles. From Hampton (TN-67E/US-321 S) turn right onto Dennis Cove Rd (in front of Citizens Bank) for approximately 4 miles. The road is quite curvy. The trailhead (which is actually the AT), and parking is on the left. The first mile is very easy. The last quarter mile is a steep rocky descent. Alternatively from 19E turn unto TN-67E/US-321S to Hampton and trailhead is 1.5miles on the right. Take trail to AT (trail splits-you can take either fork as it meets up again) Turn right on AT.
Access to this spot is: Hiking only
Best time to go to this spot is: This is a popular trail and can be crowded especially on weekends. Best light for photography is for about 2-3 hours after sunrise on sunny days before direct light hits the falls. I have not tried late in the day yet.
Insiders Tip: Seen some good fishing at the base of the falls
